MAC Pageant State Queens Competitions
The contestant with the highest score in each age division will be crowned
the MAC Pageant Overall State Queen. She will receive the prize package
. $500 cash award*
. $300 travel allowance to the National MAC Pageant
. A specially designed crown, banner and trophy
. Opportunities to travel to any MAC Pageant as Visiting Royalty during

the MAC Pageant Overall State Queen will receive a $500 credit to Nationals
in lieu of a cash award.
On pageant weekend, all contestants compete for the MAC Pageants title for their state. Contestants are scored on poise and appearance in formal dress, personal introduction and appearance in interview outfit, personality during the interview and overall impression during pageant finals. The state pageant winner is required and the queen’s court members are eligible to compete for the National MAC Queen’s Title. The National MAC Pageant will be held Thanksgiving week at the Hilton Orlando-Lake Buena Vista, Walt Disney World. You may find more detailed information on these contests in MAC State Newsletter #1.
All contestants will be scored in the following categories:
• 1/4 Poise and Appearance in Eveningwear
• 1/4 Poise and Personality in Interview
• 1/4 Personal Introduction (20 seconds) and Appearance in Interview Outfit
• 1/4 Overall Appearance during Pageant Finals
Poise and Appearance in Eveningwear with escorts:
Judges will score contestants on poise and appearance as each contestant is escorted on stage in eveningwear. This is a formal event for contestants and escorts. No cameras will be allowed in the ballroom.
Personal Introduction and Appearance in Interview Outfit:
Each contestant will introduce herself to the panel of judges before interviews, giving her name, hometown and a few things she wants the judges to know about herself. Introductions may last up to twenty seconds and will be timed. Contestants are encouraged to use the full twenty seconds. The contestant’s age should not be included in her introduction.
Poise and Personality in Interview:
A panel of judges will interview each contestant. This is done in a one-on-one format. Each contestant will spend a few moments with each judge individually. She will be asked questions she can easily answer. She will not be asked questions about politics, religion, dating, etc. Judges will not score contestants on what they know but on their poise, personality, appearance and self-confidence.
Overall Impression during Pageant Finals:
All contestants will say their introduction and model their eveningwear on stage while the judges are making their final decisions.
You may find more detailed information on these contests in MAC State Newsletter #1. Contestants are NOT REQUIRED to compete in the optional contests listed below. These contests will be judged by a separate panel of judges from the overall panel of judges and have no bearing on who is chosen as the queen.
1. Must be a live presentation on a stage no larger than 12’ X 24’
2. Must be two minutes or less
3. Must be memorized
4. Pageant furnishes microphone, CD player, 88 key digital keyboard.
All Talent contestants will perform and be scored at the talent competition.
From these performances, the judges will select the top finalists. The winners of this competition will receive a trophy or plaque. Talent performances have a time limit of two minutes. At two minutes a timer will go off and your microphone and/or music will be quickly faded out. The judges will not deduct points if this occurs, but they will stop scoring when your performance reaches two minutes. All performances must be live and memorized. Do not use sheet music if you are playing an instrument. Talent performances and costumes must be conservative and age appropriate. Make-up is allowed in all age divisions during the talent competition. Do not use songs with suggestive lyrics or song titles. The stage will be covered with hardwood dance flooring suitable for all kinds of dance routines, including tap and point. Talent contestants may use props, but please make sure they are small enough for the contestant to handle. Mats for gymnastic routines are allowed. Miss American Coed Pageants will provide a microphone, sound system and sound technician. Please don’t hesitate to contact the pageant office if you have any additional needs. If you need music to be played over our sound system during your talent, please bring it on a compact disc marked clearly with your name and age division. Bring an additional copy of your compact disc in case your first copy is lost or damaged. We strongly reccomend attending talent rehearsal for contestants who are bringing a CD to be played on our sound system. You may enter the talent competition more than once. An entry fee of $50 must be paid for each talent entry. No cameras are allowed in the ballroom at any time.

Speech entries must be 100 words or less and memorized. Parents and teachers may help you write your speech.
All Speech contestants will perform and be scored at the Speech Competition. From these performances, the judges will select the top finalists. The winners of this competition will receive a trophy or plaque. Speech performances have a strict 100-word limit, counting all words except the title. Bring two typed, double-spaced copies of your speech to turn in at pageant check-in. Your name, age division and number of words must be in the upper right-hand corner of your speech. You may wear your Interview outfit or similar conservative outfit. You may enter the speech competition more than once. An entry fee of $50 must be paid for each speech entry. No cameras are allowed in the ballroom at any time.
Contestants participating in this contest bring the photo of their choice in color or black and white to check-in on pageant weekend. Photogenic photos will be judged on pageant weekend and returned to you.
To enter the MAC Pageants State Photogenic Competition, contestants must bring a photo to pageant check-in. From these entries the judges will select the top finalists and winners. Photogenic entries may be head and shoulders, full length, posed, candid, black and white or color. The photo you enter may be any size up to 8.5” x 11” and it should have been taken within the past year. Make-up is allowed in all age divisions, however, your photogenic entry must emphasize your actual age. The winners of this competition will receive an official trophy or plaque. You may enter the photogenic competition more than once. An entry fee of $50 must be paid for each photogenic entry.
Contestants will bring and model an age-appropriate outfit that has a casual, tailored look. Each contestant will have approximately thirty seconds on stage.
All modeling contestants will perform and be scored at the modeling competition. From these performances, the judges will select the top finalists and winners. This competition will look like a department store fashion show. Your outfit should not be too dressy. Make-up is allowed in all age divisions. No pro-am modeling, such as aerial spins, kicks, or flips, is allowed. The pageant will provide the music. The winner of this competition will receive an official trophy or plaque. You may enter the modeling competition more than once. An entry fee of $50 must be paid for each modeling entry. No cameras are allowed in the ballroom.
This competition encourages these contestants to strive for excellence in every area of their school life, including academics, awards, honors, clubs and other activities. On page 11 of MAC Pageants State Newsletter #1 you will find an entry form . This form must be completed and turned in at check-in. You must attach a copy of your most recent report card or school transcript from the school where you are currently enrolled to be considered for the Academic Achievement Award. Do not send these forms to our office. Bring them to check-in on pageant weekend. Judges will select the contestant who has the best school record, honors, awards and civic and/or church activities. Winners of this contest will receive a trophy or plaque. There is no entry fee for this contest.
This award recognizes contestants who help other people without being paid. To be considered for this competition you will need to bring the completed entry form located on page 12 of State Newsletter #1 to check-in. You must include a letter verifying your volunteer work from at least one of the organizations you list. Judges will select the contestant who has the best record of community service (helping other people without pay). The winners of this competition will receive a trophy or plaque. There is no entry fee for this contest.
MAC Pageants State Hostesses earn their titles through advertising sales. Every state finalist may earn a beautiful official crown and banner with one page of advertising. The contestant in each age division who sells the most advertising for the MAC Pageants State Program Book (minimum of two pages) will win the MAC Pageants State Hostess title, an official crown, banner, trophy and any other prizes she has earned. Every contestant who sells an advertisement of any size will be recognized and presented with a trophy on pageant weekend.
