Personal Growth With a Dash of Glitter.™
Welcome to MACPageants.org, the home of both State and National MAC Pageants. I am Patty Hawkins, National Director of MAC (Miss American Coed) Pageants, a scholarship pageant system for girls and young women between the ages of 3 and 22. My mother, Carolyn Hawkins, and my aunt, Mary Jo Scarborough, founded Miss American Coed in 1983, and each year since then American Coed has presented thousands of dollars in cash awards, prizes and scholarships to contestants from all over the United States. Since then MAC Pageants have been the country's most popular pageants for girls for a reason: the events are family-oriented and age-appropriate. We encourage and reinforce the confidence and natural beauty that we know is within each and every girl. That's why you'll never find any make-up on a MAC Pageant participant under age 13 during our required competitions. We've never had it and we never will. Likewise, the clothing and onstage presentations are always age-appropriate.
Kids are kids at MAC Pageants.

The National MAC Pageant will be held Thanksgiving week at the Hilton Orlando-Lake Buena Vista, Walt Disney World. You may find more detailed information on these contests in MAC State Newsletter #1.

What does it mean to be an American Coed?
A Coed is a female attending a co-educational college or university. A young woman referred to as a Coed calls to mind a dedicated student, preparing herself to become the very best person she can be, while having a blast at the same time! Teenage years and early twenties are not only difficult for young women, but also for their parents who realize decisions and choices made now will determine the entire course of their daughter's future. Miss American Coed Pageants stress a strong commitment to community, love of country, and a solid foundation in education. With knowledge and education comes exploration of new ideas, interests, and activities, from computer science, to trying pageants, to traveling the country. MAC Pageant's motto, "Youth, Pride Of The Present, Hope Of The Future", is well understood and demonstrated by those who have been involved in MAC Pageants since they were founded in 1983.
